ILOILO City – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo will play the Philippine Air Force FC in a pair of 2019 Philippines Football League matches on Sept. 22 and 25 at the Iloilo Sports Complex in La Paz district.

Kaya-Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida told Panay News the team is excited to once again play at home after holding most of their matches at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila and Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas.

“I’m excited to play our home game in Iloilo again. Everyone knows it’s the football hotbed of the country,” Marcaida said. “It’s always an honor as a coach of a team to represent Iloilo.”

He added: “Also, a number of our players are based here and from nearby Negros Occidental. I am looking forward to these two matches against the Air Force and hope we win the two games for our Ilonggo fans.”

The upcoming two games will be the third and fourth encounter between the two teams this season after the Iloilo City-based football team swept the Air Force in the first two games this season.

On June 29, Kaya-Iloilo cruised to a 5-0 victory over the Philippine Air Force at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium with Jordan Mintah firing two goals while Alfred Osei, Ilonggo Jovin Bedic and Darryl Roberts converting one each.

It was the same scoreline in their second matchup on Aug. at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna, with Mintah netting two goals while Masanari Omura, Connor Tacagni and Negrense Jayson Panhay added a conversion each./PN
