Kiefer’s suspension ends, Alyssa posts message

Alyssa Valdez posted the sweetest message for her boyfriend basketball player Kiefer Ravena on Instagram after an 18-month suspension.

“For the last 18 months, I’ve heard sadness in your voice and I’ve seen disappointment in your eyes, but I’ve also witnessed how you did not let these stop you from using your time away from basketball fruitfully,” Alyssa wrote.

She added, “You have explored different sports, you have put effort into improving yourself and your craft, and most importantly, you have allotted more time for all the people you love.”

“You have waited so patiently because of how much you love and respect the sport, and now, babe, it’s time to finally reunite with your one great love,” said the volleyball player.

On Sunday, Kiefer played his first game with Gilas Pilipinas after his suspension because of ingesting three substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. The substances came from a pre-workout drink called “DUST,” which Kiefer regretted taking “without analyzing or taking extra time to research its ingredients.” He was suspended by international organization FIBA from February 25, 2018 to August 24, 2019.

His first game back was a tune-up game against the Adelaide 36ers. Gilas Pilipinas lost to the Australian team, 85-75. (Cosmo.ph)
