ILOILO City – Two firearms were seized from a laborer in Barangay Upper Calag-itan, San Remigio, Antique yesterday.
The 51-year-old Federico Tagurda did not have a license to possess the firearms. He was facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, police said.
Aside from the short 12-gauge shotgun and .22 revolver, a fragmentation hand grenade and several ammunition were also seized from him around 6 a.m., a police report showed.
Tagurda was detained at the San Remigio police station.
In Belison, Antique, a 20-year-old student from Barangay Poblacion was arrested for selling suspected shabu.
Adrian Sugata-on sold for P100 a plastic pack of the substance to undercover operatives from the municipal police station and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit around 7:40 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the village, a police report showed.
Sugata-on was detained at the Belison police station. He was facing a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
