ILOILO City – A laborer who was attending a wake was shot to death in Barangay Batuan, Dueñas, Iloilo.
The 44-year-old Gerald Peñaflorida died of multiple gunshot wounds on the body, a police report showed.
Officers the municipal police station tagged 40-year-old Richard Magno in the shooting.
According to police investigators, Magno and Peñaflorida were both attending a wake when a heated argument ensued between them on Tuesday. Magno allegedly attacked Peñaflorida and shot the latter using an unidentified caliber gun.
Peñaflorida was rushed to the Don Valerio Palmares District Hospital in Passi City where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
Policemen conducted a manhunt operation against Magno, who fled after the incident./PN
