Lacson-Ferrer tandem in 2019 NegOcc polls?

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental vice governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and former congressman Jeffrey Ferrer of the province’s 4th District may pair up for the 2019 election’s gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial races, respectively.

The United Negros Alliance (UNEGA) – the local political group which Lacson and Ferrer are a part of – is eyeing the tandem, said 2nd District Provincial Board member Salvador Escalante.

Escalante, a member of the executive committee of UNEGA, said they will meet this Saturday.

He also said the Lacson-Ferrer tandem is the “most ideal” considering that UNEGA chairman and governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. wants a unity ticket for next year’s election.

But Escalante clarified there was no finality in his statement, adding that “everything is still being studied.”/PN
