ILOILO City – An 18-year-old lad was found hanging and dead from a tree in Barangay Pungsod, Lambunao, Iloilo.
The tree was a few meters away from the house of Jhonren Tabilid, the teenager, according to Police Officer 2 Jessie Fussin of Lambunao.
Tabilid used a nylon rope around his neck.
Myrna Catalogo, a relative, found Tabilid dead on Friday at around 10 p.m.
Guilt and shame may have driven Tabilid to kill himself, Fussin said.
The Lambunao police learned that days prior to the suicide, cousins caught Tabilin masturbating while taking a bath.
Family members made fun of him because of it, said Fussin./PN
