CAPIZ – Police are tracking down two suspects who fled following a shooting incident linked to a land dispute that left a 24-year-old man injured inside a nipa hut in Barangay Balingasag, Cuartero own on Monday night, November 2.
The Cuartero Municipal Police Station identified the victim as alias “Mol,” a resident of the village.
Police revealed that the victim was resting inside a nipa hut owned by alias “Bert” around 8:40 p.m. when the gunman, identified as alias “Egol,” suddenly barged in and fired three shots using an unidentified firearm. A second suspect, identified as alias “Dan,” reportedly acted as a lookout during the attack.
Following the assault, both suspects immediately escaped to an unknown direction, triggering an ongoing police hot-pursuit operation.
Rescuers rushed the wounded victim to Senator Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial Hospital in Dao town for emergency treatment before transferring him to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City for further medical care./PN
