ILOILO City – Sanctions await lazy and non-performing police personnel, warned the Western Visayas’ top cop.
“Lazy police personnel have no room in this region. I don’t need non-performing police. They should do something on all illegal activities especially against illegal drugs and illegal gambling,” said Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
Wanky said that performance of the police officers, including city and provincial directors and police chiefs, will be monitored and assessed.
He added that all municipal police chiefs should exert more effort to arrest fugitives, drug personalities, and illegal gamblers.
“There are only a few who are lazy, may mga ilan lang naman. And those who perform well are being recognized by giving them medals as a way of acknowledging their efforts and accomplishments,” Wanky said.
The PRO-6 director further reminded his men to stay away from protection racket.
“Malaki na sahod ng pulis, hindi na dapat mag-engage sa illegal. Hindi ako magdadalawang isip na paalisin ang mga tamad because we are being paid to serve and protect the people,” he added./PN
