Susan Lee
Outstanding Leadership in Philippine Horticulture and Living Arts
Susan Lee has dedicated her life to advancing horticultural excellence while promoting environmental conservation, education, and international collaboration. As President of the Philippine Orchid Society, she led the organization through its historic 80th Anniversary celebration and the successful staging of Flora Filipina Expo 2026, welcoming delegates from around the world and reaffirming the Philippines as one of the world’s premier centers for tropical orchid diversity and conservation.
Her leadership extends beyond orchids. As Vice President for External Affairs of the Bonsai and Suiseki Alliance of the Philippines and a member of the Board of Directors of Bonsai Clubs International, she has helped elevate Philippine horticulture on the global stage while inspiring future generations to appreciate the living arts and protect the country’s rich botanical heritage.

Derrick Yu
Architect of Cultural Bridges Through Philippine Creative Media
Derrick Yu has emerged as one of the new generations of cultural advocates committed to strengthening representation and promoting understanding through media and the arts. As founder of the Chinoy Actors of the Philippines ( CAP ), the Association of Foreign Actors and Models (AFAM), and Binondo Films, he has created platforms that celebrate diversity while opening doors for Filipino-Chinese artists, international talents, and creative professionals.
His vision extends beyond storytelling. Through Binondo Films, Derrick seeks to preserve Filipino-Chinese heritage by producing films that celebrate identity, faith, community, and history. At the same time, his advocacy for meaningful industry reforms contributed to the filing of House Bill No. 9210, promoting a more transparent and equitable work permit system that supports international collaboration while protecting opportunities for Filipino artists.
Guided by his Christian faith and a passion for service, Derrick believes that media is more than entertainment, it is a bridge that connects cultures, preserves heritage, and inspires positive change. His work reflects a commitment to building a more inclusive and globally connected Philippine creative industry.

Chinese Commercial News
A Century of Trusted Journalism and Service to the Filipino-Chinese Community
For more than a century, Chinese Commercial News has stood as one of the most respected pillars of Chinese-language journalism in the Philippines. Since its founding in 1919, the publication has faithfully chronicled the history, achievements, and aspirations of the Filipino-Chinese community while upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
Its remarkable history reflects unwavering courage and commitment to truth. During the Second World War, founder Yu Yi Tung sacrificed his life rather than allow the newspaper to become an instrument of propaganda. Throughout political upheavals and changing times, Chinese Commercial News remained steadfast in defending press freedom and responsible journalism.
Today, the publication continues to evolve while remaining true to its mission of informing, educating, and connecting generations of Filipino-Chinese readers. As the country’s pioneering Chinese-language newspaper with a strong digital presence, Chinese Commercial News remains an enduring symbol of credibility, resilience, and community service.
A Legacy That Lives On
Although their fields differ, Susan Lee, Derrick Yu, and Chinese Commercial News share a common purpose: preserving heritage while embracing progress. Through environmental stewardship, cultural advocacy, creative media, and responsible journalism, they continue to strengthen communities, inspire future generations, and demonstrate that true leadership is measured by the legacy one leaves behind.
