Lemery barangay ‘tanod’ stabbed

ILOILO City – A village watchman (barangay tanod) was stabbed in Barangay San Antonio, Lemery, Iloilo.

His neighbor and drinking buddy was tagged as suspect in attacking the 39-year-old Roberto Dime, a police report showed.

Dime was confined in the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district.

Dime and the 50-year-old Edgar Arbit were binge drinking in the evening of Nov. 1 when the latter had an altercation with a man at a store.

Dime urged Arbit that they just leave and go home.

When they were in front of the latter’s house at around 11 p.m., Arbit stabbed Dime twice, police said, citing witnesses.

Arbit was arrested and detained at the Lemery police station./PN
