Libacao fire leaves P250,000 damage

KALIBO, Aklan – Fire totally gutted seven houses in Purok 3, Barangay Poblacion, Libacao, Aklan.

Properties worth around P250,000 all went up in smoke, according to fire investigators.

The blaze started around 11:40 a.m. on July 6. It quickly spread to several houses made of light materials the investigators added.

According to Bureau of Fire Protection-Libacao (BFP) officer I Halley Cometa, firefighters got some help from the heavy rain to put out the fire.

Cometa added they have yet to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

“Nag-iimbestiga pa tayo sa cause ng fire sa area. Nakatulong ang malakas na ulan para maapula ang sunog,” he said.

Officers of the BFP-Libacao recorded no casualties in the incident and declared “fire out” around 1:10 p.m. Fire victims will also receive assistance from local government. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
