MANILA – Aklan Swimming Team member Michael Lozada captured three gold medals to cap off a record-breaking feat in the 105th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series on Sunday at the Villareal Sports Complex in Roxas City, Capiz.
The Aklanon Lozada claimed a gold medal in the boys’ 10-under 50m backstroke on a record-breaking 36.28 seconds time, as well as the top prize in the 200m individual medley and 50m butterfly.
Meanwhile, clinching two golds each are Althea Llera (girls’ 10-under 200m IM and 50m backstroke), Atilla Pia Loy (girls’ 14-year 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke) and Khraven Villareal (boys’ 12-year 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke).
Also scoring twin golds are Jennuel Booh De Leon (boys’ 11-year 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke), and Alic Deniel Dela Cruz (girls’ 15-over 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle).
Finishing with one gold each are Maria Reina Nazareta (girls’ 11-year 100m backstroke), John Rylle Villagomez (boys’ 9-year 50m backstroke), Kyla Soguilon (girls’ 11-over 200m IM), Lucio Cuyong II (boys’ 11-over 200m IM), Gian Gomez (boys’ 8-year 50m backstroke), Lance Magno (boys’ 7-year 50m backstroke), Mark Marajucom (boys’ 14-year 100m backstroke), and Joemarie Borres (boys’ 7-year 50m butterfly).
The other gold medalists are Asha Segotier, Kate Roberto, Stacey Bee, Julyiana Calibjo, Jozsef Calibjo, Gregory Sumile, Marie Joe Borres, Natazha Lozada, Michael Marino, Lance Roldan, and Danica Alba.
“I am very happy for the support given by the provincial government Capiz. I wish to do this kind of competition more often so that the swimmers from the regions will experience a more competitive competition,” said PSL president Susan Papa./PN
