BACOLOD City – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) here was locked down effective yesterday. Two of its employees assigned in the registration division tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to Reuben Tampos, chief of LTO-Bacolod, this was their second temporary lockdown this month.
Upon the directive of LTO regional director Eric Lenard Tabaldo, Tampos said they will be closed from May 10 to 14, or depending on the test results of another three employees who had close contact with the positive patients.
Disinfection and contact tracing will be conducted, Tampos said.
On May 3 and 4, LTO-Bacolod was closed after two of its personnel were tagged as close contacts of a COVID-19 positive. They resumed operations on May 5 following the negative test result of the said personnel.
In another development, LTO assistant secretary Edgar Galvante issued last month an office order (No.2021-108) for the reassignment and new designation of the two LTO-San Carlos City (Negros Occidental) employees.
Based on the order dated April 28, Transportation Regulation II Gerard Peril, acting chief of the San Carlos City District Office, was transferred and designated as acting chief of LTO-Sipalay City District Office (also in Negros Occidental).
Administrative Officer I Robbie Susas, alternate approving officer in LTO-San Carlos City, was designated as the acting chief of LTO-San Carlos City.
The order added that the reassignment and new designation of the LTO employees was based on the recommendation of Tabaldo, citing best interest of the service./PN
