ACTOR Luis Manzano said he is proud of what his mother, Batangas 6th District Rep. Vilma Santos, did last Friday.
Santos voted in favor of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal and was among the 11 lawmakers who did so.
This was against what the majority in the lower house insisted, with the vote ending 70-11, so perhaps that’s why Manzano, whose stand is also that ABS-CBN, his home network, deserves a franchise, felt immense pride.
According to Santos, a screen icon whose filmography includes ABS-CBN Films productions, she was baffled by how lopsided the result was.
The verdict ensures that the network’s main broadcast platforms stay off the air and places thousands of jobs at risk.
