- LHULLIER claimed the championship in the women’s category of the Guimaras Volleyball Championship Season 3 Elite Edition after a five setter win over Cabaling’s Beach Resort in the finals on Saturday in Guimaras.
Rica Mae Cosio and Precious Tongol spearheaded the attack for M. Lhullier, which battled back from a set down before tangling with the tough Cabaling’s in the championship match.
- Lhullier handily won the opening set behind the duo of Cosio and Tongol but the Cabaling’s bounced back with a strong performance in the second and third set to move closer to the title.
- Lhullier, however, responded with a strong showing in the fourth set to force a deciding frame, where the M. Lhullier imposed its will on the Cabaling’s to come out as the victor.
Also part of the women’s elite category were Ang Gasoline Station, Elmira’s Eatery, Hot Cuts, Aqua Pro and DBM UBG GF Poultry Supply.
Hot Cuts, meanwhile, emerged as the champion in the men’s elite category after four-setter victory over the Guimaras Stars. Eleazar Genisan anchored the offense for the champion team.
Other teams that participated in the elite men’s category of the four-day volleyball event organzed by Richard Gabayoyo were M. Lhuiller, Kokonips, Aqua Puro and Nic Nic Ihawan./PN
