ILOILO – The police station of Maasin, Iloilo is launching tomorrow its antidrug advocacy program to bolster the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Double Barrel – a nationwide campaign against illegal drugs.
The launching will be attended by parents, elementary and high school teachers and personnel of the Maasin police station.
According to Senior Police Officer 2 Rena Salaya, chief of the Maasin police station’s children and women’s desk, this advocacy program is an information drive on the ill-effects of illegal drugs to human health, family and society.
“This will educate more people. They can then impart what they know about illegal drugs to others,” said Salaya.
The information campaign will also tackle drug prosecution, law enforcement, spiritual enhancement and interventions.
This afternoon, the police of Maasin will be distributing 40 pairs of slippers to poor students in three barangays – Siwalo, Inabasan and Tubang.
The police station has been doing this across Maasin since 2009.
