Maayon mayor re-elected as LMP-Capiz president

CAPIZ – Mayor Raymond Malapajo of Maayon has been re-elected as president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Capiz Chapter, reaffirming the strong trust and confidence placed in his leadership and commitment to advancing the interests of municipalities across the province.

Malapajo, whose vision centers on fostering collaboration and promoting effective governance among local leaders, will lead the league alongside newly elected officers: Dao’s Mayor Jose Jimbo Barruela as vice president, Ivisan’s Mayor Felipe Neri Yap as secretary, Pontevedra’s Mayor Henry Tumlos as treasurer, Jamindan’s Mayor Donnah Valdemar as auditor, Dumarao’s Mayor Matt Hachuela as business manager, and Pilar’s Mayor Arnold Perez as public information officer.

Completing the roster are the members of the Board of Directors, namely Panay’s Mayor Sonny Besa, President Roxas’ Mayor Receliste Escolin, Sapian’s Mayor Joe Villanueva, Sigma’s Mayor Dante Eslabon, and Tapaz’s Mayor Dante Palomar.

Gov. Fredenil H. Castro officiated the swearing-in ceremony held at his office in the provincial capitol on August 22, honoring the newly elected officers for their service.

This event marked a new chapter of leadership and dedication, as the LMP-Capiz officers begin their term of service until 2028, aiming to elevate the standards of governance and public service in the province./PN
