MANILA – San Juan Knights cruised to its third straight victory in the 2019-2020 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup after a 101-86 win over the Rizal Golden Coolers at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
John Wilson drained four triples to finish with 25 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists on Thursday.
Mike Ayonayon contributed 15 markers, five boards, and two dimes for the Knights.
Aside from outside hits, the Knights were also dominant from inside. They outscored the Golden Coolers 50-18 in the paint behind Jhonard Clarito, Orlan Wamar, and Lester Reyes.
Jordan Rios had 16 points to top the scoring column for the Golden Coolers, which absorbed their second loss in three games.
Meanwhile, Jan Jamon and Ron Lastimosa joined forces to shoot Pasay Voyagers over Imus Banderas, 82-65.
Jamon had 15 points and three rebounds while Lastimosa had 12 markers, four assists and three boards for the Voyagers (3-1).
James Martinez was the lone bright spot with 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists while Mark Anthony Doligon chipped in 14 markers for the Banderas, which dropped to 1-2.
In the third match, Aris Dionisio stepped up in the fourth quarter as Manila Frontrow Stars defeated Gen San Warriors, 79-72. Dionisio finished with 23 points, five rebounds and five blocks for the Stars./PN
