MALAY, Aklan – To ensure greater customer convenience, Malay town mayor Floribar Bautista favors the single ticketing system in Caticlan and Cagban ports in Malay, Aklan.

The proposed ticketing solutions will harmonize the unified cash payments for environmental, boat, and terminal fees for Boracay Island inbound and outbound tourists.

So far, the payment of the environmental fee of P300 for foreign tourists and P150 for non-Aklanon visitors is using the digital platform e-Boracay application.

The e-Boracay web app allows tourists to provide their personal identifiable information, like name, age, country, gender, domestic or foreign, for a convenience fee of P30.

The unified ticketing system was discussed during the Boracay-Caticlan Sustainable Development Council 4th Council Meeting on April 2 in Boracay Island.

Caticlan port administrator Esel Flores said the integration of the P50 boat fee and the P100 terminal fee into one single ticket will ensure both residents and tourists have seamless travel.

With this digital ticketing, tourists will no longer purchase tickets in different booths in Caticlan and Cagban ports, enhancing their experience.

Flores stressed that unified ticketing will further save time and resources for tourists to stand in queue for tickets in Malay ports, which is time-consuming during peak seasons./PN
