MALAY, Aklan – Capitol was requested to turn over the administration of the Boracay circumferential road to the local government.

The Boracay circumferential road covers the main roads to barangays Yapak and Balabag and to sitios Cagban and Tambisaan.

It is currently under the jurisdiction of the provincial government.

Malay is well-equipped to handle the administration of the road, said Sangguniang Bayan member Floribar Bautista, author of the resolution making the request.

Having total control and management of the circumferential road will enable the local government to carry out solutions to traffic problems in the island resort, Bautista said.

Municipal councilors unanimously approved the request.

They are now waiting for the provincial government’s response. (PNA)
