Malaysian influencers set to experience MassKara Festival

DOT-6 vaunts Iloilo, Bacolod tourism

ILOILO City – The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 and the Department of Tourism- Malaysia Office through the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) will conduct a familiarization tour in Iloilo and Bacolod City for the Malaysian Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), celebrities, media and social media influencers on Oct. 22 to 30, 2018 in time for the 2018 Masskara Festival.

This is part of the continuing efforts of the DOT and TPB to promote festival celebrations in the Philippines through familiarization tours for influencers who are being followed by thousands of people.

“More than 10 participants composed of celebrities, Malaysian Key Opinion Leaders, media and social media influencers will arrive here in Western Visayas for the familiarization tour in Iloilo, and Negros Occidental. The Department of Tourism Region 6 is proud and confident that these visitors will enjoy the grandeur and beauty of Western Visayas”, DOT-6 regional director Atty. Helen Catalbas said.

Iloilo City tour includes a visit to Molo Mansion, Molo Church, Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art and running tour at Millionaires Lane. They will also visit Garin Farm in San Joaquin, Iloilo and the historical Miag-ao Church.

Meanwhile, participants will also be toured in Negros Occidental specifically in San Diego Pro- Cathedral, The Ruins, and ancestral houses.

The highlight of the familiarization tour will be to experience the celebration of MassKara Festival where bright smiles, colorful costumes and energetic performers will be stars of the show.

“DOT-6 believes that tourist destinations and festivals in Western Visayas should be exposed to the wider audiences through the tour participants’ experience that they will share with their followers”, Catalbas added./PN
