ILOILO – Around P652,800 worth of suspected shabu was seized from a high-value drug suspect in a drug busy-bust operation in Zone 2, Barangay San Antonio, Oton, Iloilo on January 8.
Alias “Fox”, 39, a resident of the said place, was arrested around 3:57 p.m. by joint operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Oton Municipal Police Station.
The suspect is now under police custody. He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Western Visayas police chief, Brigadier General Jack Wanky, lauded the units involved in the said operation.
“Keep up the good work and continue our intensified campaign against illegal drugs. It is our hope that all those identified engaging in the illegal activities be caught in our law enforcement operations,” Wanky said.
He added: “Moreover, intensify our intelligence gathering and collaboration with the different stakeholders to gather evidence against the remaining illegal drug peddlers and launch operation if evidence warrants.”/PN
