ILOILO City – Alfred Fernandez faces an illegal gambling charge.
The 48-year-old resident of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Lemery, Iloilo has been arrested.
Officers caught him soliciting bets for the illegal numbers game “bookies” in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, San Enrique town, a police report stated.
Fernandez was taken to the San Enrique police station after his arrest at around 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
“Bookies paraphernalia” and P50 worth of bets were seized from him, stated the police report.
Fernandez may be charged with violation of Republic Act 9287, an Act increasing penalties for illegal numbers games./PN
