Man found dead with gunshot wounds in Himamaylan

BACOLOD City — A still-unidentified man believed to be between 30 and 40 years old was found with gunshot wounds along the National Highway in Purok 11, Sitio Tanate, Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday afternoon, August 9.

Police said the victim was discovered at around 1:30 p.m. by a witness and his wife while they were traveling home from Barangay Nabali-an.

The victim was found lying along the roadside with gunshot wounds to his left neck and left chest.

The Himamaylan City Rescue Unit rushed him to the Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the victim had a tattoo bearing the name “PAULO” on his left neck. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, brown shorts, slippers and a brown Under Armour cap when found.

The identity of the victim and the motive behind the shooting remain unknown.

Police are continuing their investigation to identify the victim, determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and locate the suspect./PN
