ILOILO – A drinking session between friends turned bloody after one of them was shot to death in Barangay Tumcon Ilaya, Pototan in this province.
The suspect identified as Novemar Murillo, 36, and a resident of the said place, shot Jasper Bermejo, 29, of the town’s Barangay P. Ledesma Ward, around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, following an altercation.
The victim sustained wounds on his neck and chest. He died while receiving treatment at the hospital, according to Captain Jersey Besas, chief of the Pototan Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Police recovered from the crime scene the suspect’s caliber .45 pistol and several empty shells of the said gun.
The suspect was detained at the Pototan MPS.
Besas said charges of murder and illegal possession of firearms were filed against the suspect./PN
