BACOLOD City – A man was entering his house when an unidentified suspect shot him in Barangay 9, Tanjay City, Negros Occidental at around 12 a.m. yesterday.
Tanjay City police identified the man as the 55-year-old resident Leopoldo Retes.
Retes sustained a gunshot wound on the chest and was rushed to Tanjay City’s Urgent Care Unit where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
According to the initial investigation of the police, the suspect was already in the area before Retes arrived.
The suspect then fled after the shooting, police said citing witnesses.
Tanjay City police were still identifying the suspect and the motive in the shooting./PN
