ILOILO City – In Barangay Alalasan, La Paz, a man was wounded in a stabbing incident.
The 24-year-old Bonifacio Mamba sustained lacerated wounds on the body and a head injury, a police report showed.
Mamba – resident of Barangay Punong-Lapuz – was brought to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro for treatment.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Marlou Gabion of Barangay Baldoza, La Paz.
According to the police, Mamba and Gabion were having a drinking session in their friend’s birthday party.
When Mamba left to urinate, Gabion followed and hit him with a bottle on the head, the report added.
Gabion then stabbed Mamba using the broken bottle around 9 p.m. on July 14.
It was not immediately established what caused the stabbing.
Police are conducting a manhunt operation to arrest Gabion, who fled after the incident./PN
