Man stabbed over argument

ANTIQUE – A man was stabbed by his live-in-partner’s father after a heated argument around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, in Barangay Lisub B, Anini-y town.

The 27-year-old fish vendor Jenever Bebelen, temporarily residing in Barangay Maybato North, San Jose, sustained a stab wound on his left leg.

He was discharged from the hospital and was in stable condition as of this writing.

According to Lieutenant Vincent Hablado II, deputy chief of the Anini-y Municipal Police Station, the suspect identified as Eugene Sandoval, 49, was sleeping inside their house when Bebelen arrived shouting and challenging for a fight.

Hablado said a heated argument ensued between the victim and the suspect due to alleged misunderstanding over their business, prompting the suspect to stab the former.

Anini-y police arrested the suspect after the incident but he was released after the reglementary period of his detention ended.

Hablado added that the victim also executed an affidavit of non-interest to pursue complaint against the suspect./PN
