BACOLOD City – A gunrunning suspect was arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Villamonte on Wednesday, police said.

Steve Bais, 29, a resident of the village, yielded a .38 revolver loaded with ammunition around 3:15 p.m. on Nov.17, a police report showed.

Also recovered were two sachets of suspected shabu, an 18-inch sharp weapon and P3,000 boodle money, the report added.  

Bais was detained at Police Station 4. Charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, would be filed against him.

According to Major Ritchie Gohee, Police Station 4 station commander, Bais was apprehended in 2014 for illegal possession of firearms.

Bais was also a suspect in several theft incidents here, Gohee added./PN
