BACOLOD City – Four persons were killed and two others were injured after a car crashed against a motorcycle in Barangay Tortosa, Manapla, Negros Occidental.

The municipal police station officer-in-charge Jaynick Bermudez identified the fatalities as Delina Abara, 56; Angeles Salmorin, 80; Dolores Granada, 83 of Isabela, Negros Occidental and 15-year-old resident Jeljuride Labrador. The 77-year-old Rolinda Barte and 39-year-old Anabelle Estil, meanwhile, sustained injuries on the body.

According to police investigators, the car driven by 38-year-old Frolian Samillano allegedly hit Labrador who was sitting on his motorcycle along the road while attending a wake around 2:45 a.m. on Feb. 21.

The vehicle then dragged Labrador before it fell into a ditch and hit a gate of a nearby house.

All of the victims were rushed to a hospital where the attending physician declared the four of them as “dead on arrival.”

Samillano was detained in the lockup facility of the Manapla Municipal Police Station. Investigations were ongoing as of this writing./PN
