Mandurriao woman nabbed with P1.9M worth of ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Around 280 grams of suspected shabu worth about P1.93 million were confiscated in a buy-bust operation in Mandurriao district yesterday, March 10.

The operation was carried out at around 2:15 p.m. in Zone 5, Barangay Bakhaw, where police arrested the suspect identified only by the alias “Ala,” a 35-year-old female resident of Mandurriao. She was classified as a high-value target.

According to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), the seized seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and five knot-tied plastic bags containing suspected shabu had an estimated street value of P1,938,000.

The buy-bust operation was led by the ICPO’s City Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, the ICPO Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay–Team Bakhaw, and the Iloilo City Police Station 10’s Drug Enforcement Team.

The suspect is currently under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
