BACOLOD City – Authorities here launched hot pursuit operations against four detainees who bolted the detention facility of Police Station 3 in Barangay Mandalagan shortly after midnight yesterday.
Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), identified the escapees as Sunny Capa, Ely Lorence, Michael Peñoso, and Jeffrey Elangos.
Pico said Capa and Lorence are residents of Barangay Banago while Penoso is from Barangay 2. All were charged for drug-related crimes except Elangos, who has been charged for child abuse.
According to initial investigation, the fugitives made their escape by cutting the steel bar of their detention cell using a saw dust.
Staff Sergeant Eric Olverio and Corporal Orwayne Jade discovered the incident around 12:45 a.m.
The BCPO was still conducting an investigation
