Mansilingan man falls for ‘carrying bladed weapons’

BACOLOD City – Inside a police station lockup facility was where a man landed for carrying bladed weapons upon entering the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan.

He was the 39-year-old Alex Mendis, a resident of the village, a Police Station 7 report showed.

Police Officers 1 Mark Vincent Dequia and Marlon Duron recovered a 10-inch jungle knife and a 12-inch scythe from Mendis’ possession around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday – the opening day of the Panaad sa Negros Festival this year.

Mendis was arrested and detained at the Police Station 7 lockup facility.

He was facing charges for violation of the ordinance prohibiting the carrying of bladed weapons around the city and the election ban on bearing, carrying and transporting of deadly weapons./PN
