
BACOLOD City – Two persons were killed and four others were wounded in a stabbing incident in Barangay Mansilingan.
Twenty-five-year-old Denmark Duerme and 38-year-old Riza Bunghanoy died of multiple stab wounds on the body, a police report showed.
Among those wounded were 50-year-old Dennis Duerme, 24-year-old Justine Duerme, 23-year-old Jino Duerme, and 40-year-old Samuel Bunghanoy, it added.
They were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in this city where the attending physician declared Denmark and Riza “dead on arrival.”
According to police investigators, the Duermes and Bunghanoys were having an altercation on Sunday evening.
Samuel was allegedly attacked by the Duermes inside their house. Riza tried to pacify the commotion but was stabbed by one of the members of the Duerme family.
Recovered from the crime scene was a 12-inch kitchen knife, police said.
Charges for murder and frustrated murder will be filed against the Duermes.
Samuel, meanwhile, faces charges for homicide and frustrated homicide./PN
