MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sounded alarm following the “kill threats” made by Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio against him and others.
‘Yan ay aking papalagan,” President Marcos said in a recorded statement on Monday.
The Chief Executive said it is alarming that anyone can easily plot an assassination attempt against the President.
President Marcos also stated that, instead of resorting to diversionary tactics, the Vice President should just answer the allegations of confidential funds misuse.
Duterte-Carpio issued the kill threat in a media conference on early Saturday morning following the attempted transfer of Office of the Vice President (OVP) chief of staff and undersecretary Zuleika Lopez from the House of Representatives to the Correctional Institute for Women.
Specifically, Duterte-Carpio said she contracted a person to kill President Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez, if she herself gets killed.
Duterte-Carpio, however, on Monday clarified that her “kill remarks” was “maliciously taken out of logical context.”/PN
