MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reminded US president-elect Donald Trump that he was able to reclaim the White House with the help of Filipinos.

According to the Chief Executive, he told Trump that Filipinos based in the United States overwhelmingly voted for him instead of his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Patuloy namin pinag-usapan ang alliance between the United States and the PH and I expressed to him our continuing desire to strengthen our relationship which is as deep as it can possibly be,” Marcos said.

“I also reminded the President na ang mga Pilipino sa Amerika overwhelmingly binoto nila si Trump, sana maalala niya ‘yan pag nagkita kami,” Marcos Jr. added.

Meanwhile, President Marcos also said Trump asked about the President’s mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, during their conversation.

“Ang kaibigan niya talaga ay mother ko, kilalang-kilala niya mother ko, kinukumusta niya how’s Imelda,” Marcos said.

President Marcos, however, said that he was not able to talk to Trump about undocumented Filipinos in the US.

“We did not talk about that, it’s just a congratulatory call but our ambassadors are already working,” President Marcos said.

Trump recently stated that he will use the military help in assisting the undocumented immigrants from leaving the US as part of his “America First” policy./PN
