BACOLOD City – Finally the highlights of the world-famous MassKara Festival will have a permanent schedule.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved an ordinance setting the MassKara highlights on the fourth Sunday of October, Councilor Em Ang said.

The ordinance amended City Ordinance (CO) No. 686, series of 2014, which set the festival on the weekend closest to Oct. 19.

The 2014 ordinance also amended CO No. 33, series of 1987, which made MassKara a permanent affair in the city.

Setting a permanent MassKara schedule will help people across the world make travel plans early, said Ang, resolution author.

It will also allow balikbayans, overseas Filipino workers and Bacolodnons living abroad to schedule their travel and vacation leaves a year or earlier in advance, the tourism committee chairwoman said./PN
