MAVY LEGASPI claimed that microphone issues were the culprit behind his not-so-perfect hosting at a certain segment on “Pinoy Big Brother’s” Big Night, after netizens called him out for how he fared.
A clip of Legaspi’s hosting blunder, uploaded by @renzdvr on X (formerly Twitter) and garnering over two million views, showed him delivering his spiel at a slower pace with confusing pauses.
“Welcome back, team online! Ayan, voting is officially closed. Kung hinahanap niyo si Alexa [Ilacad], nagbibihis siya. Siyempre, kailangan maganda for this Big Night,” he said.
“At ito, mga Kapuso at Kapamilya, right now, this is the most special moment at nagbabalik siyempre, from last year’s collab season, Ms. Charlie and of course, together from ‘Gen 11,’ Kai and of course, my papito Kyle Echarri from ‘PBB Kumunity,’” he continued.
On his Instagram Stories on Sunday, March 1, Legaspi apologized for “sounding slow” at some point during the broadcast, citing a “severe microphone delay” as the reason behind it.
“We experienced the worst microphone delay and could literally hear our voices echo in the venue, which made it difficult to talk. I would like to apologize if I sounded slow at times during our online live session,” he said. “We did our best even if it was really difficult because of the sound delay. Thank you for being patient with us.”
“OMG. Cringe nga! Anyway, thank you for supporting ‘PBB Collab 2.0.’ It was a very successful night. Congrats Caprice & Lella! Love you all!” he said.
However, netizens remain unhappy with his performance as one of the show’s hosts, with some calling for his replacement in the next season. Others also suggested that “Pinoy Big Brother” alums Michael Sager and Ralph De Leon can take his place.
Meanwhile, one @Karlobster said Legaspi “did his best” despite the delay in microphone auditory feedback.
“Having worked in audio, delayed auditory feedback is the culprit here for sure. If I hear my voice delayed in my headphones I cannot sing or talk AT ALL. 50-100 ms delay is enough to make it impossible to speak. All things considered, brother did his best lmao,” said @Karlobster.
