Media, gov’t info officers in NegOcc convene for PhilHealth SHInES

BACOLOD City – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Region 6 has gathered vital partners in the private and public sectors in a nationwide campaign dubbed as PhilHealth SHInES (Social Health Insurance Education Series).

Government information officers of line agencies and local tri-media in Negros province were educated on the various aspects of the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP), which include membership registration, payment of premium contributions, availment of benefits, warranties of accreditation as well as the Corporation’s anti-fraud initiatives.

One of the reasons why the Corporation is tapping government information officers and the tri-media is primarily because of  their important role in the dissemination of the program.

“We hope to strengthen our partnership with our key players so that they will actively advocate as well as educate their constituents about PhilHealth,”  Lourdes F. Diocson, Regional Vice-President for PhilHealth 6.

PhilHealth hopes that with their commitment, the populace will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of PhilHealth.

Diocson also expressed her gratitude to the commitment extended by them.

“Government Information Officers and the tri-media  have been our partners since time immemorial and such partnership has been strengthened with the UHC program that seeks to implement various health programs of the government especially to reduce, if not eliminate the financial burden  brought about by hospitalization by providing responsive health care benefits,” stressed Diocson.

Meanwhile, the 1-day affair will be held at the L’Fisher Hotel and will be graced by senior officers of PhilHealth – Ruben John Basa,  EVP & COO;  Dr. Israel Francis Pargas SVP, Health Care Finance Policy Sector; and Dr. Shirley Domingo, VP for Corporate Affairs Group.
