WHAT a feat this three-peat! Media Wise Communications Inc./Muse Books, a boutique publishing company, has managed to pull off something truly exceptional in 2021 – win another IABC Gold Quill Award, its third consecutive. The feat is extraordinary. Not only has no one in the Philippines bagged the IABC Gold Quill Award three times in a row in the same category, it is also extremely difficult to win the internationally prestigious award to start with.
To win just one International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Award of Merit is a great achievement by itself, considering that the candidate must hurdle the exacting IABC Gold Quill Award criteria and IABC’s Seven-Point Scale of Excellence.
Media Wise did all that this year with its entry “FINEX 50: Leading on to Wider Frontiers”, a coffee-table book which it co-published with the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines, the country’s premier organization for top-tier finance executives. Significantly, FINEX 50 also won the Philippine Quill Excellence Award earlier this 2021.
On the way to landing the IABC Gold Quill Award this year, Media Wise won the same award in 2020 with its “The Front Runner: 150 Years of the Manila Jockey Club”, and also in 2019 with “On the March: The Jesuits in the Philippines Since the Restoration”, thus achieving the three-peat.
Both coffee-table books snapped up the local PRSP Platinum Anvil Awards before winning internationally.
