CAPIZ – A six-year-old boy missing for two days was found dead in the coastal sitio of Palompon, Barangay Manapao, Pontevedra town yesterday.
A drowning victim, his body was found entangled in in fishnets.
On Sept. 24 the boy joined his father Jose Balasa Jr. in a boat sending off visitors to President Roxas, Capiz. Big waves rocked the boat until it sank.
Balasa failed to save his son. The rest of the boat’s passengers survived.
Various rescue groups in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of President Roxas and Pontevedra, and the Active Lutod-lutod Emergency Response Team worked together to search for the boy for two days./PN
