MOTORISTS can expect either pump price rollbacks or hikes this week, based on the permitted range of adjustments prescribed by the Department of Energy (DOE), as global prices have started to calm down following the developing talks regarding the conflict in the Middle East.
According to the DOE, the following are the permitted range of price adjustments per liter for the week starting June 30:
* gasoline – rollback of up to P0.10 or hike of up to P1.90
* diesel – rollback of up to P1.16 or hike of up to P0.84
* kerosene – rollback of up to P0.78 or hike of up to P1.22
The actual price adjustments will vary per fuel retailer. For Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp, the following prices will take effect today:
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp.:
* gasoline (+ P1.65 per liter)
* diesel (+ P0.84 per liter)
* kerosene (+ P1.22 per liter)
Other retailers have yet to announce their price adjustments.
An Axios report on June 28 said Iran and the United States have agreed to stop recent hostilities in the Gulf, and renew talks regarding their dispute over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to DOE Secretary Sharon Garin, the permitted range takes into account the premium, insurance, transport expenses, and cost of goods which vary per company, and consumers can choose which stations offer the best deals.
Latest available data from the DOE show that the country’s total fuel inventory was worth 41.16 days as of June 26, 2026 — gasoline at 42.19 days, diesel at 37.66 days, kerosene at 212.41 days, jet fuel at 70.83 days, fuel oil at 27.87 days, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at 35.75 days.
