Molo drug sting yields P680K ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) apprehended a high-value suspect in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Boulevard, Molo district.

The 21-year-old alias “Ulok” was caught around 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, after he handed suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P11,000.

Police recovered approximately 100 grams of the said illegal substance valued at around P680,000.

According to the RPDEU-6, the suspect was placed under surveillance for a month before the operation.

The suspect was taken into police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, commended the operating unit for their relentless efforts in the campaign against illegal drugs.

“This accomplishment shows our unwavering commitment and hard work in the fight against illegal drugs. These are the results of our collective endeavor with the different stakeholders,” Wanky said.

He also assured that public that despite their tasks in securing the upcoming May 12 midterm elections, their operations against those involved in different illegal activities are aggressively pursued.”/PN
