Approval and trust ratings of Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III have increased, a recent Pulse Asia survey showed.
The senator’s approval numbers climbed to 62 percent in the June 2017 poll from 55 percent in the March 2017 survey.
His trust figures, meanwhile, jumped 3 percent to 58 percent, said the survey conducted from June 24 to 29 with 1,200 respondents.
“I’m glad that 62 percent approve of my work as Senate president, especially since I do not have a professional PR team dedicated to promoting my image,” said Pimentel.
“However, since I was rated on my performance as Senate president, the credit must go to the entire Senate, the majority and the minority included,” he added.
The Senate’s approval rating improved to 59 percent from 55 percent, the Pulse Asia survey showed.
Pimentel said his achievement was a result of his colleagues’ hard work.
“Thanks must also be given to the media for bringing to the public’s attention all that we are doing in the Senate,” he said.
Pimentel said the Senate is expected to discuss the proposed Comprehensive Tax Reform Package and the planned shift to a federal form of government when it opens its second regular session on July 24./PN
