BACOLOD City – A 48-year-old woman was killed after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a heavy truck along Araneta Street near Banga Crossing 8 in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City, at around 4:15 p.m. on September 26, 2026.
The victim was identified by police as alias “Neme,” 48, single, and a resident of Canla-on City, Negros Oriental.
Police investigation showed that Neme was riding as a back rider on a motorcycle driven by its owner, alias “Jo,” 39, who was traveling southbound along Araneta Street.
Based on the police report, the motorcycle collided with or was sideswiped by a HOWO Sinotruk truck driven by alias “Rem,” 42, a resident of Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Neme sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene by responding rescue personnel.
Following the incident, the truck and its driver were brought to Police Station 8 for proper disposition and further investigation.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision and any possible liability arising from the incident./PN
