Murder suspect arrested in Hamtic

SAN JOSE, Antique – The suspect in the killing of a 40-year-old fisherman in Barangay 8, Hamtic, Antique was arrested.

The 31-year-old resident Antonio Damaso was caught in Barangay Budbudan, Hamtic around 8:30 a.m. on June 7 after 12 hours of police “hot pursuit” operation.

Damaso allegedly killed Charlie Nemil of Barangay Maybato North, who was found lifeless lying under their kitchen and bathed in his own blood last June 6.

Nemil sustained stab wounds on the body, police said.

He was brought to a hospital in the capital town where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”

Officers of the municipal police station were looking into love triangle as the motive in the incident.

Damaso was detained in the San Jose police station’s custodial facility, facing charges./PN
