BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental 3rd district Board Member Andrew Montelibano has accused Murcia town Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura of “abusing authority” and “bullying” following allegations that Reosura slapped a 15-year-old.

According to Montelibano, the teenager sought his help on Nov. 9.

He vowed to assist the teenager file charges against the vice mayor.

The lad had filed a blotter with the Murcia Municipal Police Station. He presented a medico-legal report supposedly supporting his claim that he was slapped on the face.

Montelibano clarified that his helping the teenager was not politically motivated.

The 15-year-old complainant, a resident of Barangay Vista Alegre here, reported to the local media on Thursday that Reosura’s 15-year-old nephew regularly bullied him and his group.

According to the complainant, the vice mayor’s nephew had challenged them to a fistfight last week.

The altercation took place outside a local golf club on Nov. 2. During the fight, the vice mayor’s nephew reportedly fell after being punched. Subsequently, barangay authorities intervened and summoned both parties for a settlement.

However, the complainant alleged that during the settlement, Reosura demanded he hand over the brass knuckles that were supposedly used against his nephew.

The teenager claimed he was slapped for denying the use of any weapons during the fight.

Vice Mayor Reosura, in a phone interview, denied slapping the teenager.

He also mentioned that his nephew had undergone a medical examination to assess any potential serious head injuries. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
