BACOLOD City – The provincial government last week released P10.5 million worth of subsidy to around 1,750 daycare workers from the 31 towns and cities in Negros Occidental.

Each recipients received P3,000 during the Federation of Day Care Workers/Child Development Workers’ 1st Pasundayag celebration held at the Panaad Covered Court here.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, who led the distribution of the subsidy, acknowledged the contribution of the daycare workers in educating young Negrenses.

“Continue to serve and mold the minds of the children,” Lacson told them as he assured the daycare workers of the continued support of the provincial government.

During the activity, which initiated by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office led by department head Elena Serenias, officers of the federation, led by president Magdalena Donasco from Talisay City, also took their oath before the governor.

In March last year, the provincial government also paid tribute to the more than 1,700 Negrense daycare workers in the first Provincial Day Care Workers Day.

The province then allocated P10.3 million for the allowances of the daycare workers for 2018. (With a report from PNA/PN)
