BACOLOD City — The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental officially launched the Negros Jobs Online Portal on December 10, a major step toward modernizing employment services and strengthening workforce development across the province.
The initiative provides job seekers with a centralized digital platform to access real-time employment opportunities while allowing employers to connect with qualified applicants more efficiently.
The launch was led by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), which highlighted that the portal is designed to streamline the hiring process and expand livelihood opportunities for Negrenses. By integrating job listings, application tools, and employer postings into one platform, the system enhances connectivity between job seekers and industries in need of talent.
The ceremony at the Capitol Social Hall was led by Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II, who emphasized the province’s commitment to leveraging technology for inclusive economic growth. Carmela Abellar, head of the Department of Labor and Employment–Negros Occidental Field Office (DOLE-NOFO), was also present.
Provincial PESO Manager Karen Dinsay shared that the portal offers features such as quick application functions, categorized job listings, and notifications for new postings. She said the system is expected to reduce the time and effort needed for both employers and applicants during recruitment.
“We had our soft launch earlier, and companies are starting to register. Once they begin posting, our job seekers will already be able to browse,” Dinsay said.
Local government unit (LGU) PESO managers and coordinators from across Negros Occidental attended the ceremony, highlighting the province’s strategy of strengthening employment services at both the provincial and municipal levels. Representatives from partner agencies, private companies, and business organizations were also present, expressing support for the platform and its potential to reach a wider pool of applicants.
The portal is expected to benefit thousands of unemployed and underemployed Negrenses, particularly fresh graduates, displaced workers, and those seeking career transitions. By providing updated job listings and verified employer accounts, it promotes transparency and trust in local employment processes.
