The head of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) said they took no shortcuts in vaccinating Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and several other officials against COVID-19.
Dr. Mary Ann Maestral, hospital chief of TLJPH, said they have to follow the correct process in vaccinating local officials including monitoring their vitals before and after the injection.
Lacson, along with several provincial board members, mayors, Capitol officials and senior citizens were vaccinated last Friday.
They were injected with CoronaVac made by China’s Sinovac Biotech.
Lacson said he felt no adverse side effects after receiving the vaccine.
“No one was allowed a shortcut; we underwent interviews and our blood pressures were taken,” Lacson said.
He was also told by medical staff that he may feel drowsiness after some time, but assured that it is only normal./PN
